Meet Brad

Brad Kaplan is a Chicago-based photographer whose work explores street photography, urban spaces, and the everyday moments that unfold where people gather.

Raised in Columbus, Ohio Brad attended Indiana University (Bloomington) for undergrad studies and Capital University Law School. Moving to Chicago after law school Brad began a legal career as a real estate and commercial transactions attorney. Brad began pursuing photography upon retirement from his legal career as a creative study of observation, place, and human connection. His photographic eye is drawn to cafés, bars, restaurants, public transportation, parks, and the streets of Chicago and the cities he visits.

For Brad, photography is a constant learning experience. Every time he steps outside with his camera, he notices something new: a gesture, a reflection, a quiet interaction, or a scene that reveals the character of a place.

Brad lives in Chicago with his wife, Karen, and is the father of three young adults. If one of his photographs speaks to you, he welcomes you to reach out or support his work through a purchase.
